Register a device without a browser

To register a device that has no browser, such as a gaming console, smart TV, or IoT device to use the Stanford network, you will need a device that does have a browser and that device must be registered and on the Stanford network.

You will also need the hardware (MAC) address of the browserless device. Visit How do I find a hardware (MAC) address on a device with no browser? ↗ for instructions.

When ready, follow these steps:

  1. On the registered device, connect to the Stanford network, open a browser, and navigate to the Residential Network Tool ↗︎.

  2. Follow the instructions on the registration page.
